In loving memory of Sharon Evans
With heavy hearts, we honour the memory of our valued colleague and friend, Sharon Evans. Sharon’s journey as a dedicated social worker began in 2000, when she qualified and embarked on a career marked by unwavering commitment to child protection, adoption, and supporting children with disabilities. Her work spanned various roles, including team manager, where she demonstrated exemplary leadership and compassion.
For over 12 years, Sharon was a devoted Practice Educator, driven by her passion for maintaining consistent, high standards for both students and educators in this vital area of practice. Her enthusiasm for social work extended beyond her immediate duties; she was an active member of the BASW Social Work Practitioner Research Network, contributing her research insights and advocating for the profession’s ongoing growth and excellence.
Sharon was more than a colleague; she was a beacon of joy and calm reflectiveness. She inspired those around her with her deep passion, fierce advocacy, and the warmth she brought into every interaction. Her dedication to uplifting and educating others has left an enduring mark on all who knew her.
As an incredible mother and a true friend, Sharon’s absence leaves a significant void. Her influence, however, will forever be felt in the lessons she imparted, the compassion she demonstrated, and the legacy she forged through her work and relationships.
Let us honour her memory by carrying forward the values she championed and continuing to spread the kindness and wisdom she embodied.
To honour Sharon and to remind Skye how much her mum was loved and respected, the team will be organising something in Sharon’s memory. It will be an opportunity for colleagues to come together and celebrate Sharon’s life. We will update you all in the forthcoming weeks.
