£1.25m funding secured to improve social worker recruitment and retention
The partnership, led by Achieving for Children, also includes Richmond and Wandsworth Adult Services, Wandsworth Children’s Service, Croydon, Kingston, Merton and Sutton Councils, Kingston University, NSPCC and Welcare.
The funding will ensure the partnership is able to attract and retain the best and brightest social workers to help deliver important services and support to families in South West London.
Robert Henderson, Director of Children’s Services, said:
“Social workers provide a much needed and valued service to young people and their families across South West London. They deal with a large variety of scenarios and require ongoing training and support.
“This funding will make an enormous difference to our ability to recruit the best and brightest young social workers and ensures we can continue to develop and enhance their skills so they can deliver the highest quality service to our families.”
